Chicago Bears OLB Aaron Lynch suffered a hamstring injury during the team’s mandatory veteran minicamp Wednesday. More The Chicago Bears are counting on outside linebacker Aaron Lynch to team up with Leonard Floyd to produce the kind of pass rush needed to slow Aaron Rodgers, Kirk Cousins and Matthew Stafford in the NFC North this season.
Lynch comes to Chicago after an up-and-down tenure in San Francisco that included seven games missed due to injury over the last two seasons. That trend has continued this offseason. Matt Nagy told reporters at Halas Hall Wednesday that Lynch suffered his second injury as a Bear; he dealt with a minor back injury during the team’s first minicamp in April.
Let’s be real honest here, there’s not a lot of good things going on with Miami. In the 2016 and 2017 drafts, the only top-100 pick who looks like a player the Dolphins cannot let hit free agency is Xavien Howard. That’s not the type of track record you want with highly invested-in young players.
If you’re ranking young Dolphins by upside, 2018 first-round pick Minkah Fitzpatrick has to be really high on the list. As a hybrid safety, Fitzpatrick often came off the edge as an extra blitzer, played in the slot and played as a single-high safety.
He was something close to college football’s version of Harrison Smith. At this point, it’s hard to tell exactly where Fitzpatrick will play, or if he will ever have a stationary position in the NFL, but his 24.0 pass deflections, 9.0 interceptions, 16.5 tackles for a loss and 4.0 touchdowns at Alabama speak to his versatility.
This is where things get interesting. Ohtani is a right-handed pitcher who bats left. His injured elbow is his lead elbow when hitting. Why does this matter? Because the stress on this elbow http://www.officialravensproshoponline.com/Javorius-Allen-Jersey is minimal when he is swinging the bat.
The Padres are the only team in the majors that has never pitched a no-hitter. They have played 7,881 games since starting out in 1969.
I’m aware of it, I dream about it, said Richard, Brian Westbrook Jersey who has been with the Padres for parts of eight seasons. It’s one of those things that you want to be a part of and if you’re the one that does it, it’s even better.
Matt Chapman homered leading off the bottom of the eighth, moments after Semien’s defensive gem cut down the go-ahead run, and the A’s beat the Royals 3-2 on Sunday.
Just reaction, Semien said. I had a tough grip. I had my whole palm on the ball so I just tried to throw Javorius Allen Jersey it as hard as I could from there. Merrifield’s pretty quick so you got to get the transfer and the throw there as quick as http://www.footballeaglesofficialonline.com/Nike-Brian-Westbrook-Jersey.html you can. That was good.
Oakland manager Bob Melvin called it one of the best plays of Semien’s career. Closer Blake Treinen, who was on the mound and had a perfect view, termed it `incredible.’
Merrifield doubled off A’s starter Sean Manaea and advanced to third on Mike Moustakas’ groundout. Treinen replaced Manaea and got Perez to hit a grounder that Semien made a diving stop on, and threw to home while still on his knees to nail a sliding Merrifield.
The man who masterminded a Super Bowl win then spent the better part of eight minutes addressing and deflecting White House-related questions with the pursed-lipped patience of a harried middle manager tasked with explaining to the office why the higher-ups slashed the medical plan.
Wheeler missed the 2015 and Shayne Gostisbehere Youth Jersey 2016 seasons after Tommy John elbow surgery and will be facing the Braves for the first time since be threw six scoreless innings against them at http://www.authenticflyerstore.com/authentic-53-shayne-gostisbehere-jersey.html old Turner Field on Sept. 19, 2014, to improve to 4-2 with a 2.94 ERA in eight career starts against his hometown team.
A product of the Atlanta suburbs, Wheeler was scheduled to pitch at SunTrust Park last year and again this April before both games were rained out.
Wheeler started the season in the minors, but he has three quality http://www.officialauthenticsaintstore.com/womens_michael_hoomanawanui_jersey starts in his last four outings, posing a 2.52 ERA during that stretch.
Despite the loss at San Diego, Foltynewicz has a 0.97 ERA in his past six starts and opponents have batted only .167 during that stretch.
He made every start this year and has just been so good for us, Auburn coach Butch Thompson said. Couple of these we’re talking about the last few games is three or four runs. Today I think he misfired more than I’ve seen him misfire, but I think today’s was different than the ones we’re referencing here in the last month or so.
He’s resilient. I could tell that one hurt him today. He was excited about today.
Florida coach Kevin O’Sullivan said Mize’s performance on Saturday shouldn’t be the one everyone remembers.
This will be Romano’s 14th start this season and his 30th major league appearance. He made his big league debut last year, making 16 starts in three different stints.
Romano went 2/3 with a 7.45 ERA in six May starts. In his lone June start Michael Hoomanawanui Jersey last Wednesday, he took the loss, allowing five runs on six hits with a walk and six strikeouts against the Colorado Rockies.
While Kauffman Stadium is a spacious park, expect balls to be flying over the fences for these two games. The Royals pitching staff has allowed a major league-high 97 home runs, one more than the Reds.Mets welcome change of scenery, trip to meet Braves
The Atlanta Braves, who have played the most road games in the majors, are glad to finally be able to get some time at home.
After being held to one run by Brewers starter Junior Guerra, the Cubs broke through in the eighth against a bullpen with a league-best 2.53 ERA. The left-handed-hitting Heyward, who had three hits, tied the game at 2 with a run-scoring single to right off lefty reliever Josh Hader.
Left-handed hitters were 2 for 36 against Hader before Heyward’s single.
The Browns traded for Tyrod Taylor in mid-March. But, before they dealt for the Bills quarterback, Cleveland attempted to acquire Nick Foles.
The Browns offered Philadelphia the 2018 NFL Draft’s 35th overall pick in exchange for Foles, according to a report from NFL.com. The Eagles reportedly declined the trade after Foles told the team he’d rather stay in Philadelphia.
Foles stepped in as the Eagles’ starter last season after Carson Wentz tore his ACL in mid-December. He threw for 971 yards and six touchdowns in the playoffs.
“I think it’s a unique way to show togetherness, not only for our team but in society today,” Cavs forward Jeff Green said. “For me, I take it as more than us … especially when you’re dealing with a lot of different backgrounds like we have.”
To Green’s point, the Cavs’ melting pot consists of mostly black players, but there are also white players in Kevin Love and Kyle Korver, the aforementioned Calderon, who is Spanish, Clarkson, who is half-Filipino, Cedi Osman, who is Turkish, and Ante Zizic, who is Croatian.
Boston registered 79 total tackles and five interceptions for the Chargers last season. He was originally picked in the fourth round of the 2014 NFL Draft by the Panthers and spent three seasons in Carolina.
The Colts finished 2017 with a 4-12 record and missed the playoffs for the third straight year in part to a dismal secondary. They fired coach Chuck Pagano and replaced him with former Eagles offensive coordinator Frank Reich in the offseason.
Indianapolis is expecting quarterback Andrew Luck, who missed all of last season with a shoulder injury, to be ready to the start season.

“If you can win at any level, it helps the comfort level,” said Trotz.
Browns General Manager John Dorsey has never shied away from players character concerns in the later rounds of the draft.
Now his new team has taken another chance, on a guy who will fit in comfortably there.
The Browns traded up with the Patriots, and with the 105th overall pick selected Florida wide receiver Antonio Callaway.
Callaway admitted to failing a marijuana test at the Scouting Combine, which is the latest in a long string of incidents for him. He was dismissed from the team at Florida for off-field issues, and didn’t play last season. He was the team’s leading receiver in 2016 and was an All-American return man as a freshman in 2015.
The crowds are also sparse in the shots behind the NFLN and ESPN desks, with a small fraction of the numbers who were present two days ago. (MDS has posted visual evidence as to all three observations.)
It’s not a surprise. For as big of a deal as Thursday night has become, Saturday is still a snooze-fest, no matter how many times the NFL or ESPN reminds us that Tom Brady was a sixth-round pick. Even though starters, Pro Bowlers, and maybe even a Hall of Famer will be drafted today, the interest isn’t there, hasn’t been there, never will be there.
That’s why the NFL should consider splitting the hosting of the draft between two cities, with one handling the first two nights and a new city getting the third day.
Instead, the Ravens initially traded down from No. 16 to No. 22 with the Bills, picking up a third-round pick (No. 65) and also giving up a fifth-rounder (No. 154). Then the Ravens went back three more spots in a deal with the Titans, getting a fourth-round pick (No. 125) and throwing in a sixth-rounder (No. 215).
The Ravens then picked tight end Hayden Hurst (not Jackson) at No. 25, before leaping back to No. 32 in order to get Jackson. To get Jackson, the Ravens gave up their second-rounder (No. 52), a 2019 second-round pick, and a seven-spot flip-flop of fourth-rounder picks in 2018. They also had to sweat out the possibility of another team taking Jackson — including the Patriots not once but twice.
The Colts announced they have signed 10 undrafted free agents, including five defensive backs and South Carolina linebacker Skai Moore.
Moore made 353 tackles 20.5 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks and 14 interceptions in his career. He became the 15th player in Division I history to lead his team in tackles in four seasons (2013-15, 2017), and his 14 interceptions tied for the school record.
Despite his productivity, Moore’s size (6 foot 2, 224 pounds) and speed (4.73) kept him from being drafted.
He has denied that there was any factual basis for the charge. There was no settlement agreement with the complaining individual, no money exchanged hands and there was no confidentiality agreement. In discussions today with Lions management, the reporter involved acknowledged that the allegations have not been substantiated.
Patricia said Thursday he is 100 percent the head coach of the Lions and has no fear of being fired amid the controversy.
Bravo, general manager Brandon Beane.
Edge-rusher Bradley Chubb was the surest thing on the defensive side of the ball in this draft.
He has the athleticism, technical prowess and experience to dominate immediately at the NFL level, and the Denver Broncos needed a player exactly like that to lighten Von Miller’s load.
In the No. 5 spot of the draft, that’s an utter steal.
Guard Quenton Nelson was the surest thing on the offensive side of the ball in this year’s draft.
He has the size, strength and experience to dominate immediately at the NFL level, and the Colts needed a player just like him as they try to get back on track by supporting Luck as best they can.
Ten days into May, Dez Bryant still doesn’t have an NFL home.
With the deadline passing for free-agent signees figuring into the compensatory picks formula, Bryant’s status could change in short order if any team is willing to take a chance on a former Pro Bowler whose production has waned.
But certainly I think he can take some of the things he’s seen Jason do and incorporate that type of attitude and work ethic in what he’s doing and get a chance to be back out there.
I think that every evaluation that I’ve seen, Dez has an excellent opportunity to make a contribution and a significant contribution to a team. Our time was the time and the right time [to release him] as far as our relationship, but that doesn’t preclude him from being productive for another team.
Throughout the offseason, Jerry Jones has been the good-cop on Bryant’s side. Most of the league, however, hasn’t agreed with the Cowboys ‘ owner. Dez’s market has been quiet since he turned down a multi-year offer from the Baltimore Ravens before the NFL draft.
Rick Porcello, who was originally slated to pitch on Thursday, was bumped up to Wednesday, and left hander Eduardo Rodriguez will start in the series finale on Thursday.
Price’s injury appears related to the same symptoms that forced him to leave an April 11 start against the Yankees at Fenway Park in Boston after one inning. Price allowed four runs in an eventual 10-7 Yankees win.
Prescott is eligible for a contract extension after the 2018 season. Set to earn $720,000 in base salary in 2019, this year could be the last that the Cowboys own the luxury of paying the starting quarterback less than a backup center.
With the going rate for starting QBs soaring well past the $100 million figure, the Cowboys know they’ll soon need to pay the QB piper. Given Prescott’s status as a fourth-rounder, Jones is aiming for a figure that should be around second-tier money when Prescott is eligible — perhaps closer to Jimmy Garoppolo ‘s $137.5 million deal than Matt Ryan ‘s $150-million whopper, or whatever astronomical figure Aaron Rodgers receives.
All-Star shooting guard Jimmy Butler sat out the final quarter of the Minnesota Timberwolves’ season due to soreness in his surgically repaired right knee, coach Tom Thibodeau said.
Butler exited Wednesday’s Game 5 loss to the Houston Rockets with 2:33 remaining in the third quarter and did not return.
Butler played the series with a sore right wrist, which the Timberwolves kept quiet after he injured it during his 31-point performance in the regular-season finale, a win over the Denver Nuggets that decided the Western Conference’s final playoff berth.
A league source said Butler wasn’t certain that he’d be able to play in Game 1 until his pregame shooting session a couple of hours before tipoff.
Butler, who averaged 15.8 points, 6.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists in the series, twisted his left ankle during the Timberwolves’ Game 3 win. He refused to acknowledge that injury.
“It’s all mental,” Butler said after Game 3, in which he had 28 points. “At the end of the day, you tell your mind it doesn’t hurt, and it doesn’t hurt. You play through it.”
Peters is Calgary general manager Brad Treliving’s second head coaching hire after Gulutzan, and the fourth coach of the Flames in nine years after Gulutzan (2016-17) Bob Hartley (2012-16) and Brent Sutter (2009-12).
“I think it’s a very good team and I think it’s a team that’s set up to win and play the modern game,” Peters said.
“What I talk about the modern game, when you watch the playoffs, you need defense up in the rush, you need offense from your defense. We’re going to be able to do that with what we have.
“The majority of the core is still in their prime and still has room to grow and a higher ceiling to be reached. There’s lots to work with and that’s exciting.”
Calgary has finished outside the playoffs seven of the past nine years.
Peters was the head coach and Treliving one of the general managers of the Canadian team that won gold at the 2016 men’s world hockey championship in Russia.
Treliving had asked the Hurricanes for permission to speak to Peters last week about coming to Calgary. The GM said he didn’t talk to any other candidates.
“This is an individual I’m familiar with,” Treliving said. “I was focused on Bill. It’s based upon seeing and living it live with him over albeit a short period of time.
“He’s prepared. I think he’s a student of the modern game. I think he’s relationship driven with players. He’s honest and direct.”
Peters is coaching Canada again at the world championship May 4-20 in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Ronald Guzman hit a tiebreaking two-run single in the sixth inning, and the Texas Rangers beat the Toronto Blue Jays 6-4 on Friday night.
Joey Gallo homered and scored twice and Nomar Mazara had three hits and two RBI as the Rangers won back-to-back games for the second time this season. Texas, which beat Oakland 4-2 on Wednesday, won consecutive 10-inning games at Houston on April 14 and 15.
Guzman broke a 4-4 tie with a single to left off Marcus Stroman (0-3), driving in Gallo and Mazara.
Steve Pearce hit a two-run double in the second, and Toronto tied it when Pillar tripled in the third on a broken-bat hit that bounced over Gallo’s head in left.
Stroman lost his left shoe as he broke to cover first on Jurickson Profar’s grounder in the third, but didn’t break stride and recorded the out.
Rangers: C Robinson Chirinos (left wrist) sat for the second straight game but is expected to return to the lineup Saturday and Sunday. The Rangers were off Thursday, meaning Chirinos will have had three days of rest once he returns. … Texas activated RHP Tony Barnette (back) off the 10-day disabled list and optioned RHP Jose Leclerc to Triple-A Round Rock.

The Atlanta Hawks and coach Mike Budenholzer have mutually agreed to part ways.
Budenholzer, the 2014-15 NBA Coach of the Year, and the organization finalized terms of a split Wednesday night.
“I am grateful for the five years that I spent as coach of the Atlanta Hawks and will always cherish the incredible contributions, commitment and accomplishments of the players that I was fortunate enough to work with here,” Budenholzer told ESPN on Wednesday night. “From ownership to management, support staff to the community, I’ll look back with great pride on what we were able to achieve together with the Hawks.”
Considered one of the NBA’s best tacticians, Budenholzer also had been the Hawks’ president of basketball operations — until surrendering front-office control with the arrival of Schlenk in the spring of 2017.
Budenholzer earned his Coach of the Year honors after a 60-victory regular season with the Hawks and a trip to the 2015 Eastern Conference finals. The Hawks reached the playoffs in four of his first five seasons. Atlanta dropped to 24-58 this season, with the organization’s mandate to shed salary and gather draft picks and future assets.
He compiled a 230-219 overall record, which included a 17-22 postseason mark.
